The truth is that everyone wants an acne free face, and yet, not everyone is willing to make all the necessary steps in order to remove the complexion of daily dirt from their skin. If you suffer from acne, you should know that it is essential to take care of your skin. This means that you should have a proper routine that has to be completed each single day.

If you have to deal with acne and you do not know how to cure it, you should definitely read the following lines that will help you get the skin you have always wanted. You should keep in mind that there are many producers who spoke about their products as being the best anti acne products from the market, without even mentioning the daily routine you should actually complete in order to have an acne free face. There are many people who do not know how to take care of their skin, which is a difficult task, especially for those who suffer from acne.

Before starting you should learn some general tips that might help you keep acne under control. Here you have the most common tips that might save your skin from this skin condition that is able to cause so much harm.

1.    Never pop the acne

This is rule number one, being the most important thing you should keep in mind. As you probably know, there are many people who disobey this rule, popping their acne on a constant basis. However, you should stop doing this because pimples contain some dangerous bacteria that can easily get inside other pores, causing even more pimples. Additionally, if you do not know how to pop your acne you will risk to get a red and painful inflammation.

2.    Never touch your face

The second tip is also ignored by many people. As you probably know, touching your face may be a reflex or a bad habit. Either way, you should keep in mind that your hands may have dirt on them. This does not mean that you are dirty, but it rather means that you risk to get bacteria at every single contact that you have.

3.    Drink the necessary amount of water

You probably know that water is great for the human body, and therefore you should not be surprised to find out that it also plays an important role in keeping your skin healthy and beautiful. There are many doctors who recommend at least 2 liters of water per day. Since the skin is an important organ of your body, you should treat it as best as possible. Another thing you should keep in mind is the fact that you should never replace water with sugary drinks, especially because it has been proven that sugar is a trigger for acne. Additionally, milk has also been indicated to be an acne-producing agent. On the other hand, it has been proven that green tea without sugar is a great ingredient in your fight against acne.

4.    Watch your diet

It used to be a time when people believed that diet has nothing to do with the apparition of the pimples. However, this seems to be a lie, especially because nowadays it has been proven that certain foods may cause acne. You should eat more fruits and vegetables, and additionally you should make sure to take the omega-3 fatty acids, no matter if they are from fish or other supplements.

5.    Take the necessary vitamins

There are a few vitamins that should be taken in order to keep a balanced life, some of them allowing you to have a beautiful skin. For instance, you can take primrose oil, zinc, or vitamin E. You might have a deficiency of these vitamins, which actually causes the apparition of acne.

6.    Wash your face on a regular basis

As you well know, it is recommended to wash your face. However, you should keep in mind that you should not wash it more than twice per day. If you wash it too often you may risk to make your face dry, and therefore it will produce more oils, and therefore you will get more acne. Another tip you should keep in mind is to always moisturize your skin, even if you have a naturally oily skin. The best time you should moisturize is right after you have cleaned your skin.

7.    Use a toner

The toner is a lotion that is famous for shrinking your pores. However, you should keep in mind to find a toner that does not contain alcohol. Usually the toners that contain alcohol are well known to wipe away the oil from your face, causing even more oil, and therefore increasing the acne from your skin.

8.    Try to remove stress from your life

If there is a word that should characterize the society of our days, this word would definitely be stress. If you are willing to look around yourself you will see that stress affects an increasing number of the human population. Stress is bad for the human body, and each person reacts differently in stressful situations. Therefore, you should try to find a way in order to calm yourself. You should keep in mind that the cells that are responsible for the sebum production become unregulated in stressful situations, causing the apparition of more pimples. You should think about a way of getting away from the daily stress. There are some people who are able to relax by taking long walks, while others try different meditation techniques.

9.    Don’t forget to sleep

During the night the human body recovers from the everyday agitation, and therefore you should make sure that you have a good night sleep. Additionally you should think about changing your pillowcase on a regular basis. If you want, you can also cover it with a towel that will absorb oil from your skin.

Thanks for such an informative article. I’ve had problems with pimples ever since I was a teen. It really lowered my confidence. I’ve heard of a couple of these things but there are some I haven’t. I never even thought of changing my pillow case because of oil before, but it makes sense. Will try these new tips very soon :)

Ugh, stress is a huge factor for me! Every single time I have extra stress or anxiety going on, I break out. I think hormones play a key role in this as well. I know it’s almost impossible to remove all stress from your life but I like the solutions they provide here for de-stressing. Now I do tai chi and yoga every week and it really does work.

Excellent tips here! I especially agree with not touching your face. We don’t realize just how much bacteria we get on our hands and it makes your acne worse for sure. Not to mention you will reduce the number of colds you get if you follow this practice as well.

As an adult I still suffer from acne. These are great tips for preventing, spreading or worsening your acne…I have experienced first-hand the consequences of not following the first two tips! And that’s very true about avoiding toners with alcohol, as it’s very drying. I really should follow the tips regarding drinking more water and getting more sleep though. Great advice!
